Let’s meet Chase, a recent graduate from CCDs Engineering program. As a non-traditional first generation student chase knew that attending CCD for their strong resources for students was crucial for his journey to a stellar four year college. Let’s hear all about it. Take it away, Chase.
– Thanks, Alex. As a non-traditional first generation student, I knew I needed to attend a community college with the resources to get me on track to a stellar four year university. CCD has a strong reputation for guidance students like myself and a diverse body of others all on the heart of the city. As a child, I always dreamt of being an inventor and engineer. I spent my free time disassembling toys to build new ones. These dreams began to fade as I struggled with the academic learning process and felt I could not learn like everyone else. CCD helped revive these childhood dreams with dedicated inspiring professors and fun academic clubs. My professors showed me who I really was and introduced me to the robotics club. I excelled in mathematics while building an autonomous rover for the annual robotics challenge at the Great Sand Dunes National Park. As the club leader, I led my team to win an award for advanced autonomy and succeeded through four out of the five challenges. This wouldn’t have been possible. without the exceptional professors at CCD and their dedication to student success. CCD is the perfect college for those who want to change their lives through education but feel it isn’t possible with their circumstances. The passion in the professors is infectious and inspiring to go above and beyond and succeed in academia. I aspired to continue my education at the Colorado School of Mines and pursue mechanical engineering. Today that dream is a reality as I will transfer in the fall with my associate in science and mathematics from CCD. Not only did my professors help me find success, my involvement in the robotics club inspired me to apply for the graduate program in robotics. CCD helped me discover a whole new sense of self and showed me that academic success is possible. Back to you, Alex.
– Thank you Chase for sharing your remarkable journey. We wish you continued success as you pursue your dreams and embrace new horizons. Take care.
