– I appreciate the intro, Alex. My journey into college wasn’t easy. At 15, I lost my father, which motivated me to succeed as a tribute to his belief in my potential. I chose Concordia University and I’m so grateful I found a college where people echo the values my father instilled in me. When I arrived at CU Dub, something special was in the air, an energy that showed opportunities and transformation. The support here has been instrumental to me earning a 4.0 college GPA and setting numerous track and field records. My teammates and my coaches have become my second family. Being a part of this community has elevated my performance on the track and plays a role in my overall success. Achieving five individual school records and earning national rankings in three events comes from personal dedication and the collective effort of my team. This is more than just a testament to my athletic ability. It’s a significant part of my journey to self-discovery. I’m not just running for myself, I’m running for my team who motivates me, my coaches who inspire me, and my father who believed in me. Choosing CUW was about the Christian environment that would help me become the person I was meant to be. I’m surrounded by a community of friends, teammates, and staff that have helped me grow in my faith and in my personal development. Their support gives me the confidence to take on all of life’s challenges. I can’t help but reflect on the incredible transformations that Concordia has made on my life. Concordia is more than just a college, it’s a place where my mind is enriched with knowledge, wellness, and faith. Concordia is my home and has helped me overcome obstacles and renewed my purpose, even through challenging times. And that’s my story. Take it away, Alex.
– Thank you, Maya, for the powerful reminder of the strength from adversity, the value of a supportive community, and the role of faith in achieving one’s potential. Your story has shown us that CUW is where students are educated and equipped with the tools to succeed. Thanks again.
