KSU’s Student Centered Environment

Segment #6 from Kennesaw State University

Transcript

Okay, let’s go ahead and meet up with the amazing student Bethany. Bethany is in her junior year here at Kennesaw State and is majoring in organizational communications. She’s gonna talk us through all of the accessible and innovative resources that KSU has to offer to make sure their students are successful. Bethany, talk us through the possibilities.

– Thanks, Alex. Growing up, I was super close to my family so coming to KSU I knew I really wanted to connect with the community. I didn’t have a lot of connections and a lot of friends from high school weren’t coming so I didn’t really know where to get plugged in. The first place I checked was student organizations. One of the clubs I joined was Delight at Kennesaw State. Delight is an all girls ministry that has changed my life for the better. It was there that I met so many awesome girls who were very genuine about life. During that first semester, I really began to realize how much KSU was rooted in growing my identity. I eventually found several organizations that really helped change my life for the better. Additionally, KSU also offers several resources to help students who are struggling to find their place. They offer free counseling and the staff there are professionally trained, kind and there to help you. Academically, KSU also offers lots of resources that are super beneficial to students. The writing center has really come in handy when I’ve needed help with some writing assignments and the tutoring center has really come in clutch when I’ve needed help with homework. Here at KSU, I’ve learned that the most important thing is becoming who you’re meant to be through the community that you built. Kennesaw State has been key in helping me grow my future possibilities to the fullest. Now the question is, what’s next for us, Alex?

– Absolutely brilliant Bethany. It’s great that KSU has helped you grow towards being the person you wanna be. And with all these resources to support your passions, who wouldn’t be excited. Students certainly have a lot of amazing benefits being part of the KSU community. Thank you, Bethany and cheer to you.
