Find Your Voice with Luke

Segment #5 from Concordia University Wisconsin

Transcript

For Luke, Concordia has always been a family tradition. This is where his parents and three older siblings attended college. However, Concordia’s commitment to helping individuals reach their potential helped Luke forge his own unique path, harmonizing his passion for music and ministry. Luke, tell us how you found your voice in a legacy of Lutheran education.

– Thanks, Alex. Hey, everyone. Growing up, I was always hanging out around Concordia. All of my siblings were students here, and even as a high schooler, I was welcomed by their professors and friends. My college decision was pretty easy, because for me, Concordia was and still is a home. As a freshman with a love for theology, music, and theater, I didn’t know which to focus on. The good news was, at Concordia, I could do all three. As a theologian, I study with Lutheran pastor professors who are some of the humblest, most devoted, most Christ-centered scholars in the world. My professors have truly helped me enrich my Christian voice, and within my major, I’ve been able to enrich my voice voice. CUW’s supportive nurturing music program has me flourishing as a vocalist while also learning skills that will help me grow as a composer, music director, and conductor. As a member of the Kammerchor Choir, I’ve formed some amazing friendships and CUW theater’s award-winning program has warmly embraced me as a co-curricular participant. As a theater student ambassador, I aid in program prayer, planning, and leadership. It was through performing with my theater family and singing in the rain that I rediscovered the joy of serving through performance. Concordia’s liberal arts focus empowers students to pursue their passions across various disciplines. Students of all majors participate in theater and music, getting to hone their artistry under our expert faculty, who demonstrate commitment to the success and wellbeing of their students. At Concordia, my professors in music, theology, and theater are passionate experts in their fields and put students first. Our close-knit Christian community supports you as a learner and nurtures you into a better human being. That’s why here, I feel at home. Back to you, Alex.

– Thank you, Luke. Your story is a testament to individual growth and finding one’s voice in the chorus of possibilities at CUW. At Concordia University, Wisconsin, students like Luke are empowered to live uncommon lives, blending their talents with their faith to make an impact far beyond the classroom. Thanks again, Luke.
