Exploring Fullerton with Ariana

Segment #3 from Cal State Fullerton

Transcript

Let’s talk with Ariana, a local who has spent her whole life growing up right here in the city of Fullerton. This beautiful campus is just a short drive from Disneyland, the beach and Fullerton’s charming downtown area. It’s safe to say there’s plenty to do around here, on and off campus. Let’s explore more of the area with Ariana.

– Thanks, Alex. When applying to different universities, I knew I not only wanted to go somewhere with a great communications program, but also somewhere with a diverse selection of on-campus organizations. Who knew that the perfect school was so close to me? I actually grew up right here in Fullerton and I like to tell people we’re in a great location, only miles away from Orange County Beaches, theme parks and Los Angeles. There’s also so much to do here, like going to downtown Fullerton and checking out the different coffee shops, thrift stores, and restaurants. There’s always something happening on campus too, like going to one of our division one sports team events or checking out a farmer’s market, hosted by our very own associated Students Incorporated team. Cal State Fullerton has over 300 on-campus organizations and clubs. One of the organizations that I’m a part of is Titan Radio, the university’s online freeform radio station. Any student, no matter their major, can host their own hour long radio show. I’ve been doing this since my freshman year and it’s been a great way for me to not only improve my communication skills, but also prepare me for a potential career in radio. I’m also part of the university’s honors program, and I’m currently working on my senior honors project. Under a faculty led mentorship, I’ll be presenting my honors project to my community at the end of my senior year. This project is contributing to my overall learning and connecting me with future employment and job opportunities. Cal State Fullerton is an incredible school for me, allowing me to balance both my creative and my academic interest. I’ve made some of my best friends here and I can’t wait to see what the rest of my time here has in store for me. Back to you Alex. Hi everyone. Welcome back to Titan Radio, the sound of CSUF.

– What a beautiful city. Ariana, thank you for showing us around Fullerton and kudos for excelling as a double minor, amazing. With Cal State Fullerton offering over 100 degree programs, it must be hard to choose just one. Many here have achieved national prominence through outstanding faculty and alumni achievements, and it’s clear you are on that path, Ariana, thanks again.
