Let’s meet Sabrina, a graduate student whose journey at CUW exemplifies the seamless fusion of professional and personal passions. Navigating the leap from undergraduate to graduate studies is rigorous for anyone. CUW makes the transition seamless with accelerated bachelor’s to master’s programs in business, pharmacy, athletic training, and health professions. Sabrina, tell us how the Accelerated Occupational Therapy Program prepared you to excel. Take it away.

– Thanks, Alex. Hi, you guys. I had my first exposure to occupational therapy when I was in middle school and my dad was diagnosed with cancer. The OTs that were working with him treated him with kindness, and more importantly, they had faith in him, and that’s when I knew what I wanted to do with my life, and Concordia University had everything I was looking for, and so much more. I’ve always been passionate about healthcare and the occupational therapy program has been a game changer. I’m taking classes that allow me to explore anatomy, physiology, medicine, and healthcare as a whole. One of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced is Concordia’s Cadaver Lab. This hands-on experience has allowed me to explore the human body and learn how to apply that understanding to helping people in the future. The hands-on Learning combined with the fully equipped Labs has truly helped me grow as a student. Plus, CUW offers an accelerated bachelor to doctor track for occupational therapy, which allows me to begin my dream career sooner. One of the highlights of the OT program is working alongside faculty and peers in Concordia’s interprofessional clinic. Here, I’m gaining practical experience delivering comprehensive patient care. This hands-on education sharpened my clinical skills and deepened my understanding of patient-centered care. My friends in the CUW faculty have been incredibly supportive, which makes balancing grad school, multiple campus jobs, and participating in college athletics a little easier. My experience has pushed me to accomplish more than I ever thought was possible, and for that, I’m forever grateful to Concordia. I plan to carry on my dad’s legacy by advocating for healthcare, encouraging healthy behaviors, and showing kindness to individuals that may be underserved. That’s my story. Back to you, Alex.

– Wow, Sabrina. That was incredible. CUW’s commitment to a holistic education prepares graduate students like you to be skilled professionals, visionary leaders, and empathetic caregivers. In fostering an uncommon environment where students thrive academically, spiritually, and socially, CUW ensures graduates are well equipped to handle the complexities of healthcare with a deep rooted sense of community service. Thanks again.
