Hi everyone, my name is Lauryn and welcome to Dorm Tours! I’m here at The University of Memphis in Centennial Place and I wanna show you my crib, so let’s have a peek.
Here we have my amazing bedding. I love it so much. Because you’re in a dorm doesn’t mean it doesn’t have to feel like home. So I wanted to make everything feel spacious and homey and bright, and so the wall art I actually made myself. I got the design from Etsy and I was like, you know what? I don’t want to pay someone to do something that I can do myself. The canvas I painted myself. The beddi, I love.
I love yellow, pink, teal. If you can’t tell, I mean it’s kind of everywhere. And I wanted it to feel comfortable and homey and I couldn’t really pick themes in like, I’m just going to do everything.
I have the linens. I have a thing for lemonade, florals, the boho patterns. It’s all over the room. And I really love it over here. I have a bed for risers. I totally recommend doing that. It’s the best thing ever because I got all of this space underneath and no one has to see. I keep it cute with the bed skirt.
It’s amazing. And then we’ve gotten a little window area and then over here we’ve got my desk area. I have these amazing bookshelves are floating so you can’t really see got them on Amazon. They’re supposed to be drilled into the wall, but you can’t have holes in the wall. So command strips will be your best thing for everything.
The desk area is great. And then over here, since we’re in a double, I have my own closet. Here’s my roommate, Keely. So this is her closet over here. And then my closet over here. You have your own space, your own room, and here’s my closet. They’ll tell you not to bring a lot of clothes, but if you got space for it, do it.
I mean, I’ve got doors down here. All of my clothes are color coded. Little, I’m a little sensitive about things like that. And then over here, I’ve got this amazing picture holder that I got from my grad party. It’s got Polaroids of all my friends and family, and it just feels really homey just to have a picture of them here with me because I’m not originally from Memphis. I’m from Nashville, Tennessee.
And then here we have, got my kitchen area, vertical storage, your best friend. Okay. If you take nothing else from this video, no vertical storage for the bed risers. This amazing shelf, it’s got all my kitchen items. We’ve got these band. I wanted to keep it cute, but also have somewhere to put my food because we need functionality.
And then I’ve got my microwave. Actually, again, the retro theme. We’ve got the mini fridge from Best Buy. Raising the rack is from work, so I totally recommend getting this. But for the one thing that’s like cost effective, we actually like flip the thing. You need to bring college baby wipes. Okay, it’s a little hot. You might not you might like baby wipes like you’ve never sink in here.
So if you want to wash your hands, you’re going to have to go out in the hallway, wait for a bathroom to wash your hands. Or if I’m having a little snack, I could catch one of those baby wipes. So, like, there’s makeup on my hands. It’s gone. Baby wipes. So I totally recommend getting those to stick in your back pocket, and I totally recommend bringing them.
But thank you for spending time with me in my dorm. Have a great day and thanks for watching Dorm Tours!
