A local university has hit the jackpot by being featured on an upcoming episode of the Amazon Prime TV series, “The College Tour.”
During the show, students and alumni at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield will discuss SHU’s innovative programs, hands-on learning, faculty, and other aspects of life on campus.
The university’s 30-minute episode takes viewers on a journey through the university, providing an inside look without having to step on campus.
Host Alex Boylan, a winner of The Amazing Race reality show, introduces students and provides facts and figures about SHU while video footage and photographs give the audience a look at the campus.
Ten students discuss topics such as mentorships, athletics, and student activities, and they share their experiences at the university.
“The idea for The College Tour TV series came to me from my 16-year-old niece,” said Boylan, who has produced and hosted leading programs on PBS, CBS, and the Travel Channel. “Because of the pandemic and finances, she wasn’t able to travel to tour colleges.
“So, using our skills as executive producers, we created a series inspired by her and millions of other young people who are interested in attending college.”
The episode is scheduled to air sometime this fall.

If Anthony Lago, a sophomore at Delaware Valley University, decides to change her major from small animal science, he should consider public relations.
Rago of Rititz will appear as part of “The College Tour”. This is Amazon Prime’s 30-minute program that allows you to see inside the university campus directly with your student account.
The episode of “College Tour” hosted by Alex Boylan, the former winner of the reality show “The Amazing Race,” focuses on Delaware Valley University, a private university with about 2,000 students in Doylestown, Bucks County. I’m guessing. This episode features several students who share the excitement of college experiential learning programs, sports teams, and clubs.
During Lago’s energetic segment starting at the 25:30 mark in the video, he-literally-Delaware Valley University-or flips over to Delval as colloquially known.
Rago begins by sharing how he developed his passion for working with animals after being inspired by the late zookeeper and television personality Steve Irwin. His passion for caring for animals is evident, as the entire video shows that he deals with several different species of wildlife. And in the video, Lago states that what drew him to college was immediate access to direct experiential learning.
The Department of Small Animal Science also provides him with future travel opportunities around the university, such as a trip to Australia in collaboration with local veterinarians and wildlife and a trip to Indonesia in collaboration with aquatic wildlife, a future specialty. It also mentions the excitement of.
Lago also mentions his involvement with the Students’ Union and his dedication to leadership. A student treasurer and president’s class in 2023, the school’s involvement in leadership development helped shape his own leadership style and ability to inspire others.

FAIRFIELD, Conn.—Sacred Heart University students and alumni will discuss SHU’s innovative programs, hands-on learning, faculty and other aspects of life on campus in an upcoming episode of the Amazon Prime TV series, The College Tour. The episode should air in the fall, and the University will host a viewing party on campus for students, alumni, faculty and staff on Monday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. atPioneer Village.

The SHU students featured are: Gabe Bitencourt ’21, DeAndre Byrd ’22, Sydney Worthen-Jenkins ’23, Tomas Koeck ’22, Sophie Lupone ’23, Ryan Solorzano ’22 and Nicole Ziner ’20, ’21. The alumni are: Mary Nealon ’16, Vanessa Parrillo ’21 and Winnie Victor ’19, ’21.
Victor, who earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training and her master’s degree in exercise science and sport nutrition, is the first student to appear in the segment. Speaking from SHU’s Center for Healthcare Education, she tells viewers about hands-on learning at Sacred Heart and points out the center’s facilities. Victor also explains how she was able to progress in her field of study because of the many opportunities she received through internships, labs, courses and collaboration with faculty.
“I am so grateful to SHU, and I was so thrilled and honored to be featured in the show,” Victor said. “It was such a rewarding experience.”
“The College Tour is a great way for prospective students and parents to learn about SHU and all it has to offer,” said University President John J. Petillo. “Our students and alumni are proud of their accomplishments, and we love that the show gives them an opportunity to talk about their successes in and out of the classroom. We’re excited for the world to see and hear our Pioneers’ stories.”
Petillo was on campus when The College Tour filmed over the summer and may have a cameo in the episode.

DOYLESTOWN >> On Friday, Aug. 27 Delaware Valley University held a red-carpet premiere and student viewing party for a new episode of “The College Tour,” a national television series featuring colleges and universities around the world. DelVal is highlighted in a full episode of the new show.
The event included a red carpet, searchlights, food trucks, popcorn, music, and the students who appear in the show. Students gathered around a big screen on the quad to watch the episode. Alex Boylan, the host of the series, gave an introduction and shared his career journey with students.
“Time can’t be stopped, time can’t be bought, and time spent being unhappy or not following your passion and your purpose is time you will never get back,” Boylan told DelVal students at the event. “You all attend an amazing university that focuses on experiences, use those experiences. You have a faculty that celebrates and supports you. You have an amazing place here to flourish. Whatever you do, where ever you end up in life, whether it’s halfway around the globe or right down the street, just do it with everything you’ve got, and set the world on fire. That will help you live an extraordinary life.”
The episode of “The College Tour” featuring DelVal includes interviews with 10 students about their DelVal experiences. The series is designed to allow viewers to virtually tour campuses from their homes. The featured students posed on the red carpet and enjoyed the episode with Boylan and the DelVal community.

Delaware Valley University hosted an event on Friday, Aug. 27, screening the new television series, The College Tour.
The series aims to virtually tour various college campuses, allowing students considering higher education the chance to visit colleges remotely. Delaware Valley University is one of the colleges visited on The College Tour.
The host of The College Tour, Alex Boylan, spoke with AL DÍA and elaborated on how the show came to be:
“My niece, about a year and a half ago, couldn’t figure out where to go to college… not long after that, COVID hit, and shut the whole world down… Her college search was dramatically affected… That’s how The College Tour was born,” Boylan told AL DÍA.
“The show was designed for prospective students… anywhere from [grade school] age up to 40-50-years-old… people going back to school.”
Episodes run from 30-minutes to an hour in length, and provide a virtual look at the lives of each university’s students through interviews with 10 individual students. The series is expected to have 47 episodes filmed by the holidays.
Each episode highlights the individual university’s specialties and characteristics. In the case of Delaware Valley University, the college’s biology, zoology, and agricultural programs were put in the spotlight.
Salus University in Elkins Park, another college in Pennsylvania, is also featured in the series.
In order of appearance, other campuses visited in the show thus far are:
Fort Lewis College, Florida Tech, Arizona State University, East Tennessee State University, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and University of Connecticut.
Delaware Valley University’s episode underscored the university’s unique programs not often found at many schools, such as its hands-on agriculture programs.
In the episode, agribusiness major Darian Poles elaborated on the opportunities Delaware Valley offered him in the field, and how he ultimately landed an impactful internship at Deseret Ranch in Florida:
“As an African-American male in the Ag industry, there’s not too many of us on the Northeastern side of the country… While I was in Florida, I met another Black cowboy. This was the first time of my life that I worked with someone who looked like me and shared the same dream,” said Poles.
Each of the 10 students interviewed for the episode detailed their experiences with the school, and how their choice contributed to their education.
The students featured in Delaware Valley University’s episode are:
Secondary education major Jamie Specca, agribusiness major Poles, biology major Parker Kilkenny, counseling psychology major Sarah Young, crop science major Wyatt Hoffman.
These students led the first half of the episode, while the second half featured interviews from:
Small animal science major Juliet Campbell, biology major Kai Allen, conservation and wildlife management major Christine Lambert, small animal science major Anthony Rago, and business MBA student Zuzanna Pankowska.
The College Tour can be streamed on IMDbTV, Amazon, and GoogleTV. The series can also be streamed through XBOX and PlayStation’s streaming applications.

CEDAR CITY — Ten Southern Utah University students recently shared their unique stories of success on the “The College Tour,” a new national TV series created by Emmy-nominated and multiaward-winning producers.
According to a press release from the university, the episode featuring SUU premiered this week through streaming platforms and on the university’s YouTube channel.
“With the impact of COVID-19 restricting prospective students’ ability to visit our campus, we decided to bring SUU to them,” Nikki Koontz, associate vice president for marketing communications, said in the release.

“When we were approached by the series producers to do an episode, I immediately knew we had to jump on this incredible opportunity. The 30-minute program not only tells the story of SUU through the lens of ten remarkable students, it highlights the very best aspects of our university – our faculty, staff, administration and the absolute beauty of our campus.”
The program features segments hosted by SUU students Tiffany Chin, Skyler Clark, Hadley Cowan, Jessica Eddington, Dominique Erwin, Daviann Kauweloa, Nouman Kante, Sam Nelson, Preston Rivera, and Jordan Simmons.
Each student shares about both their path to and time at SUU, ranging from Chin’s experience as a first generation college student to Rivera’s transition from life as a U.S. Army explosive ordnance technician and Kante’s journey from Mali, West Africa, to Cedar City, Utah.
All participants said they were excited to share their SUU experience on the program.
“There is no other school where you will feel like you have a second home,” Cowan said. “I’ve talked to so many people who felt uncertain about college but as soon as they walked in and they talked to a professor or student, they felt like there was someone who cared about them. They weren’t just a number, they were a student with a background, goals, and potential.”

The College Tour, a television program hosted by The Amazing Race winner Alex Boylan will include an episode about Delaware Valley University in Doylestown. The show’s episodes focus on a single college and tell its story through the viewpoint of students.
One of the students featured on the episode about Delaware Valley University is Kai Allen, who grew up in Plymouth Meeting and graduated from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. Allen is a freshman and is majoring in biology with a zoology specialization.
